Open Up! lgbt history coming out of the closet

One digital place you can go to for everything you want to know about LGBT history in primarily Central, Eastern and Southeastern (CESE) Europe.

Preservation of unique documents which otherwise would never be findable, visible and retrievable. In the Open Up! collection we even have material from the 1940s!

Empowerment for the LGBT community; when you know your history, your heroes, you are standing stronger when facing the (outside) world while developing your own identity.

National and international LGBT organisations are opening up with us. Being part of Open Up! has given organisations the chance to digitise (a part of) their own archives, showcase their part in the LGBT history and share.

Unique and dynamic project whose goal is to expand its collection with help from many different LGBT archives and special collections across this region.
